The Pharmacy Department at Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (SMBB) Institute of Trauma is dedicated to providing safe and effective pharmaceutical care to all patients. Functioning as a vital component of the clinical team, our mission is to ensure that the right medication reaches the right patient at the right time, maintaining the highest standards of safety and professional integrity.

To cater to the high-pressure environment of the Trauma Centre, our department operates four specialized pharmacies (ER, OT, Central & IV Dilution) that are fully functional 24/7 across the institute. This around-the-clock availability ensures that life-saving medications and surgical supplies are accessible at a moment's notice and to provide uninterrupted support to the for emergency cases, ICU’s and ward admitted patients.

Our Pharmacy team works in seamless coordination with the Supply Chain and Clinical departments to manage a robust medication use process. Utilizing the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), we maintain real-time tracking of stock levels and medicine movements.

Our Pharmacy adhere to strict storage protocols, ensuring that temperature-sensitive medications are kept under optimal conditions and that FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices are strictly followed.

By combining clinical expertise with efficient distribution, the Pharmacy Department at SMBBIT serves as a cornerstone of patient recovery and trauma care excellence.
