With the high aims and objectives, Professor Mazhar ul Hasan, Chairperson, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, Dow Medical College & Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau, Civil Hospital, Karachi, took up the laborious task of effectively running and developing this department.
With the dedicated team of experienced faculty, the department has acquired expertise to treat a wide range of patients with various types of eye diseases. It is one of the leading Ophthalmology Units in Sindh with the cutting-edge technology to provide comprehensive and sub-specialty services to the patients.
Well-organized and intelligently managed, this department is composed of three units. Unit I is led by Prof. Rasheed Khokhar, who is a renowned ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal surgeon. Unit II is headed by Prof. Mazhar ul Hasan who is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist with special expertise in pediatric eye diseases. Unit III is supervised by Prof. Nisar A Siyal, who is well-known for his Vitreo-retinal services and expert catering for all complicated retinal disorders.
