  • About Us

    Department of Research Development intends to create a research culture and strengthen the efforts to produce high-quality research at the institute. Research excellence in all fields of study is essential to the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma (SMBBIT). It is a high priority as the key element to the success of the Institute profile that needs to be preserved. The objective of the SMBBIT is to develop, elaborate, embellish and conduct the institute's research programs and to link research activities directly to the educational, social, and economic priorities of the institute and its broader community. The department has been involved in teaching and monitoring the research related reprocesses at SMBBIT. The department is also engaged in education and monitoring the research related reprocesses at SMBBIT.

    Ethics Review Committee (ERC) of SMBB Institute of Trauma

    The purpose of an Ethics Review Committee (ERC) is to review the research protocol /proposal to ensure the rights and safety of any human subjects involved in research and state whether or not it is ethically acceptable.

    The proposal submitted for review may be in the form of original research (randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis, quasi-experimental study, case-control study, cohort study, or cross-sectional analytical study), review article, case report, book review, recent advances, new techniques, debates, adverse drug reports, current practices, audit reports, evidence-based reports, short communication or a letter to the editor.

    All proposals should submit by the 15th of every month, and would submit the signed ERC application form, medical record request, checklist for ERC application, and informed consent form in hard and soft copies to the DRD.
